Note: If you believe in a “god” don’t read this unless you accept that you cannot change my beliefs. I accept that I cannot change yours. Save both of us some trouble.
If you’re there
why won’t you answer?
If you’re there
why won’t you listen?
One flower resting
in the corner of the garden
One flower fighting
on the side of the dirt road
One flower growing
sunlight ever so bright
One flower dying
barren soil ever so dry
Love conquers all
Well, that’s a lie
Day by day
I water my flower
I tend to my flower
But as winter approaches
It slowly wilts away
Petals drift to the floor
Death conquers all
If you’re a peacemaker
Why are you the cause
of so many bloody wars?
If you’re so uniting
Why do you divide us?
If you’re so impartial
Why are you so unfair?
If you’re so generous
Why do so many suffer?
It’s easier, so much easier
to believe you do not exist
rather than to believe
that you are so cruel
Your followers, your minions
They don’t like to believe
Death is merely death
Heaven a mere dream
Hell an easy scare tactic
So they believe instead
in a magical being we cannot see
in a happily ever after
They turn blind
to the cruel world in front of us
